Liberty Motorwerks is a dream.
Liberty Motorwerks was conceived by our founder, Lee Chapman.
Those who knew him know that he believed in and loved Life, Liberty, and vintage BMW’s.
After convincing me to leap into an older car (at the time, WOW), he would laughingly answer the phone as Liberty Motorwerks Tech Support… We decided to honor Rapp Motorwerks and our “Bavarian heritage” by using the “E” in the name.
Our logo being the flag he carried, inked on, but he preferred to say he was carrying it, on his arm and the sticker he gave me as a cofounder when we did a transmission swap on mine, and he extracted the rear subframe bushings on another with a Sawzall.
We lost him to a bad day too long ago.
Since knowing is half the battle, you know the name and why the flag. BTW, the BMW rondel is a flag, not a propeller. Sorry movie buffs… That said we’ll bail you out… You might not realize it is the flag of Bavaria, because it was inverted.
Leaping back into today, we have the domain and a fleet. We continue to use projects like this to learn techniques, experiment and demonstrate.
… and who knows with hopes one day, meet people, find parts, have sales, facilitate trades and maybe even find great shops.
